Fund Raising Event

Objectives

Siskiyou Media Council will bring many community organizations together for a live television and Internet steaming fund raising event. The twelve hour event will increase awareness of the SMC services and those of the particitating organizations. In addition, the event will raise $42,000 in viewer donations and pledges.

Participates in this event will benefit in many direct and indirect ways. Viewers will hear first hand about the products and services available to them and their fellow citizens. Donation gifts and recognition will be offered to all prospective donators. Financial contributions collected, will be shared with participating organizations.

Siskiyou county nonprofits, government agencies, educational institutions will be invited to join MCTV 15 as a producer access organization and then be eligible for participating in the telethon. Active participation guarantees a share in the donations.


Goals

Partner with 20 organizations ( Fees: 20 x $150 = $3,000 )

Twelve hour long live television event

  • Segmented hourly with to the minute blocks
  • Scripted presentations using the teleprompter
  • Pre-recorded blocks used to promote us
  • Live communications for telephone call in/out, Skype, email, twitter
  • Partnership with YCTV 4 and stream live on their channel
  • Live stream to all partners websites

Collect $42,000 in donations over the month long campaign

  • A successful fundraiser is one that clearly communicates the reason why funds are being raised. Make sure that the who, what, when, where, why, and how of your fundraiser gets out to the community. Revenue will be greater if every prospect knows the reason why you’re raising money.

  • Our message needs to be specific, not general in nature. It should detail why the fundraiser is being done and it should make them want to help
