Technical Director Roles and Responsibilities
The Technical Director is focused on the scientific and technical issues within our organization. The Technical Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the transformation of capital - be it monetary, intellectual, political, or volunteeriziam - into technology and procedures in furtherance of our mission.
The Technical Director is:
- not an officer of the Board of Directors;
- not a member of the Board of Directors;
- hired by the Executive Director;
- managed by and reports to the Executive Director;
- the person who serves as the Chief Technical Officer of the organization;
- a partner with the Executive Director in achieving the organization's mission;
- the chairperson of technical committee and encourages Board's role in strategic planning;
- primary architect of technical fulfillment;
- responsible for the current and future needs of the organization; and
- responsible for the technical budget line items.
The Technical Director Responsibilities:
- Backup systems and procedures
- Evaluate new technologies
- Provide media consultation services
- Develop and manage yearly technical budget for maintenance and improvements
- Develop multi-year plan for media services
